Camille Dierksheide is an honors graduate of L'Academie de Cuisine's Professional Culinary Program, where she studied with two-star Michelin Chef Gerard Pangaud of Bistro Gerard Pangaud (formerly Gerard's Place) and Chef Patrice Olivon of the White House, and former Executive Chef of the French Embassy. Camille studied pastry with Chef Kate Jansen, co-founder of Firehook Bakery, and she collaborates regularly with Chef Danna Andrews of Yellow Pear Cuisine. Camille is a member of Slow Food International and the American Personal and Private Chef Association.
In establishing The Beehive, Camille draws on organizational skills developed through 16-years experience as a professional event manager in Washington and a style enriched through a lifetime of experience and a passion for the arts.
As a member of the Seattle Girls' Choir during her high school years, Camille traveled to Finland and the Soviet Union to sing with choirs from around the world and to serve as a goodwill ambassador of the United States. While completing a degree in International Affairs at The George Washington University, Camille studied in St. Petersburg, Russia, at the Russian State Pedagogical University's Hertzen Institute. She developed her love of music throughout high school and college, and as a young professional in Washington, she continued her vocal studies, performing chorus and principle roles in operas, recitals, and benefit concerts including, Dido and Aeneas, Madama Butterfly, La Bohème, and Dialogues of the Carmelites.
As a professional events manager, Camille worked for a broad spectrum of industries and individuals - ranging from universities and international non-governmental organizations to church groups and fashion designers - planning and coordinating events ranging from major, multi-day conferences to weddings, birthday parties, and afternoon teas. Combining her professional experience with her love of the arts, Camille also assumed the role as company manager for Opera International's productions of Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Tosca, and her direction and performance in the holiday concert fundraiser, "Christmas Around the World," earned her critical praise from the late Joseph McLellan, Music Critic Emeritus of The Washington Post.
Camille has fused a lifelong passion for fine food and classic entertaining with her expressive and dramatic flair as an opera singer to create The Beehive…."To me the kitchen is just like an opera except the knives are real."
